Fancy Nancy

I looovvvee Fancy Nancy! She's so colorful, and fun, and has a huge imagination. I am not very fancy, but sometimes I like to put on my butterfly headband and scarf. And I have a fancy dress Grandma made me that is like a ballet tutu! Fancy Nancy has lots of headbands, and scarfs, and ballet tutus. She likes butterflies, and art, and putting on shows, and making people happy. But most of all, she learns how to be kind and do nice things for other people. She is fun to read about and I have read lots of her books. You should, too!

Mr. Grumpy's Outing

There once was a man named Mr. Gumpy (I'm not sure why because he seems very nice, not grumpy) who lived on a river. He had a boat and he took lots and lots of things on a ride! Two kids, and a dog, and a cow, and a cat, and a goat...until the boat got so full everyone fell out and got all wet! Then they all went to his house for tea and foam! (Mama says probably not foam, but I like foam in my tea.) And I think riding on a boat would be fun, but I wouldn't want to fall out and get all wet.

Bear's Busy Family

I have a big family. I have three boy cousins with one on the way and three girl cousins. I have four uncles and six aunts. And I have a Grandma Sturm and a Grandma Camus. A Grandpa Sturm and a Grandpa Camus. And there's Mama, and Papa, and Ethan. And me!

In my family, Grandma Sturm sews. Aunt Jenny plays the piano. Uncle Caleb is a Marine. Grandpa Camus rides a motorcycle. Uncle David works in a coal mine. My cousins and I like to play together. We play Little People, and cooking, and swing on the swing set. Mama cooks, and cleans, and works on her laptop. Papa works on bicycles. Ethan crawls about and gets into my toys.

Bear in Bear's Busy Family has a big family, too. A mama and papa. An uncle, aunt and cousins. A brother, and sister, and baby. They are all busy playing drums, and cooking, and doing art.

Mama says all families are busy. And the best way to be busy is to be busy together.

Make Way for Ducklings

Mr. and Mrs. Mallard are looking for a nice place to have their family. They pick Boston. And when their eight little ducklings are born, Mrs. Mallard takes them on a walk across town. The policemen come to keep them safe, because Boston is a very busy city and the ducklings are so small the cars can’t see them. (Like Mama says the cars can’t see me so I have to hold her hand when we cross the street.) They go to the Common to swim in the pond, and eat peanuts, and live on the little island. It is a very nice place to live. I’ve been there. See, here are Papa and me with the ducks!
