Seven Blind Mice

Once there were seven little mice, all different colors. They have eyes, but they can’t see anything. When a new animal comes to their pond, six of them feel a different part of the animal. They think this new animal is a pillar, or a snake, or a rope. But they are wrong. Until the last one feels all the animal. And guess what it is? I guessed. It’s an elephant!

Duck on a Bike

Duck lives on a farm. One day, he finds a bike…and he decides to ride it. He rides all over the farm. All the other animals see him. Some of them think it looks like fun. Some of them think he is silly. But when a bunch of kids leave their bikes lying around, they all try to ride bikes, too! They have lots of fun – just like I do when I ride my bike!

Millions of Cats

An old man goes to find his wife a cute, little cat. He finds a hill full of “hundreds of cats, thousands of cats, millions and billions and trillions of cats”! And they are all so cute, he takes them all home! But they can’t keep all those cats, so they ask the cats which of them is the very cutest of all. The kitty cats all get in a huge fight and disappear – until only one little teeny cat is left. With a little love and good food, it is the cutest cat of all and they are very happy!

The Story of Babar, the Little Elephant

Babar is an elephant who lives in a forest. It is very sad when a bad hunter kills his mama, but he runs away and lives in the city. Where he wears clothes, and learns to read and drive, and exercises, and drinks tea. One day his little cousins come and he buys them clothes, too. When their mamas come looking for them, Babar decides to go back to the forest to visit. When he gets their, the other elephants decide to make him king because their king had eaten a bad mushroom, and turned green, and died. Babar becomes king and marries his cousin Celeste so she becomes the queen. It is a very good book.
