Ferdinand is a big, big bull. Mama says sometimes bulls are
trained to fight in a show. The other bulls wanted to fight, but not Ferdinand.
He just wants to sit under a tree and smell the flowers. One day, though, he
sits on a bee that stings him! He is so hurt he runs around like the other bulls.
The men watching think he is the best fighter of all the bulls and take him to
fight in the show. But he doesn’t fight. He doesn’t like to fight. So, they
take him back to sit under his tree and enjoy the flowers. And I hope he
watches out for the bees!
